Enforced disappearances in Balochistan continue on the International Day against Enforced Disappearances – BRP
The central spokesman of Baloch Republican Party Sher Mohammad Bugti criticized the role of international community and human rights organizations about enforced disappearances and Human Rights violations perpetrated by state forces in Balochistan. He said that the enforced disappearances in Balochistan continued on the International Day against Enforced Disappearances but the human rights organizations have limited themselves to mere lip service. The press release of Baloch Republican Party stated that on the international day against enforced disappearances when the world was sympathizing with family and relatives of forcefully disappeared people, Pakistan celebrated the day with forcefully abducted more Baloch people from Balochistan. Pakistani forces attacked and sabotaged a rally of BRP women wing for enforcedly disappeared Baloch in Dera Bugti and abducted several people including women.
Many people including women and children were abducted from Dera Bugti, Naseerabad, Jaffarabad and different parts of Balochistan. The affected areas include Sui, Ghari, Toba, Rojhan Jamali and others. Some of the abducted people were identified as Hajira d/o Dhani Baksh Bugti, Heera s/o Dhani Baksh Bugti, Mohammad Alim s/o Kher Mohammad Bugti, Pyara s/o Guhram Bugti, Yar Mohammad s/o Guhram Bugti, Mohammad Khan s/o Danga Bugti, Manzoor Hussain Bugti s/o Ali Gul Bugti, Ghulam Rasool s/o Leemo Khan Bugti, Mehr Dil s/o Dostain Bugti, Bhatta s/o Kareem Bugti, Zareena w/o Karghi Bugti, Pazho Bibi w/o Kareem and more than a dozen activists of Baloch Republican Party and Baloch Republican Student Organizations were abducted when they were participating in a rally against enforced disappearances in Balochistan with BRP women leader Banuk Shamma Bugti and BRSO leader Banuk Rahila Bugti.
Such an action by Pakistani forces on International Day against Enforced Disappearances is a clear testimony that the forces and intelligence agencies of Pakistan are grossly violating the international laws and standards of Human Rights. It is the urgency of time that international community and human rights organizations take a step forward from mere lip service and play a vital and practical role to end enforced disappearances and extra-judicial killings of Baloch people by Pakistani forces and intelligence agencies. The cases of enforced disappearances and recovery of bullet-riddled dead bodies of Baloch missing persons in Balochistan are very serious and need urgent attention of the civilized world.
The best way to pay tribute to Shaheed Nawab Akbar Bugti is to continue the struggle for freedom – Nawab Brahumdagh Bugti
Chief of Baloch Republican Party Nawab Brahumdagh Khan Bugti paid richest tributes to Shaheed Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti on his sixth martyrdom anniversary. Talking to a reference organized in the residence of Mir Afzal Bugti in Quetta in tribute to Shaheed-e-Azam Nawab Akbar Bugti on his martyrdom anniversary, Nawab Brahumdagh Bugti said that the best way to pay tribute to Shaheed Nawab Akbar Bugti is to continue the struggle for freedom. He said Baloch people have to unite to safeguard their national interests and freedom. We salute the sacrifices of Baloch martyrs who watered the plant of freedom with their precious blood.
He said today is not a day of mere sorrow and grieve, although Shaheed Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti was isolated from us physically by the occupying state but today is also a day of national pride and honor for us because Shaheed Nawab Akbar Bugti in his very old age, disregarding his physical ailment, sat up to cure the whole Baloch nation that was suffering from the disease of slavery. He made us proud by sacrificing his life in that age along with his comrades and gave a new life to the Baloch national struggle for freedom. Today the nation is struggling against tyranny, oppression and occupying following the foot prints of Shaheed Nawab Akbar Bugti.
Nawab Brahumdagh Khan Bugti further said that today we all have to show unity as the enemy is not missing any opportunity against Baloch & committing a systematic genocide. Baloch youth are abducted, tortured and their mutilated dead bodies are found. If the freedom struggle ended unsuccessfully, then the very existence of Baloch nation will be wiped out. It is our national duty to accelerate the struggle. This day, the martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Nawab Akbar Bugti and the sacrifices of Baloch martyrs not only demand condolence references, they demand practical struggle from us. If we do not become cure of the wounds and tears of Baloch mothers and sisters and continue to remain victims of subdivision then the enemy will kill and finish us all one by one. Today, we have to take a solemn pledge that we fulfill the mission of Baloch martyrs by getting rid of group differences and personal interests and we will fulfill the dream of a free, independent and a prosperous Balochistan for which our martyrs sacrificed their blood.
Baloch Republican Party’s central deputy organizer Dr. Basheer Azeem, BRP women wing leader Banuk Hooran Baloch, BRP leader Mir Wadood Raisani and other leaders including Agha Ashraf Dilsoz of Char Jamaati Ittihad (Four Parties Union), Mir Afzal Bugti, BRSO organizer Irshad Baloch also addressed to the participants on this occasion and paid richest rich tributes to the life, struggle and sacrifice of Dada-e-Baloch Shaheed Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti on his sixth martyrdom anniversary.
The perception of intolerance for free journalism in Baloch society is not true – Nawab Brahumdagh Bugti
Baloch pro-independence leader and chief of Baloch Republican Party Nawab Brahumdagh Khan Bugti, talking to the BBC URDU service, has condemned the threats to journalist in Balochistan and denied governmental allegations of running any armed Baloch resistance organization. He said Balochistan is in a state of war where state terrorism & atrocities are committed every day and no one, including the journalists, is safe.
Nawab Brahumdagh Bugti futher said that i have already explained that i have no affiliation with any of the armed Baloch resistance organization, however, Nawabzada Hyrbyar Marri and other friends can better answer themselves to the allegations against them. Condemning the threats to the journalists in Balochistan, Nawab Brahumdagh Bugti has categorically refuted the perception of intolerance for the freedom of journalism in Baloch society and that the Baloch struggle has turned into a fascist movement.
He said Balochistan is a victim of state terrorism and people are picked up and tortured in notorious cells of state forces and their mutilated dead bodies are found on daily basis & this is not a problem of any particular class. Even our folk singers and poets are not tolerated. If journalists are targeted and it is said that they are not tolerated in Balochistan then i think it is an effort to distract attention from the real issues.
He said that the real issue of Balochistan is being ignored and when the outlying areas of Balochistan are bombarded or any military operation is carried out their and people get killed, no one even get to know about them and the state terrorism and atrocities committed by the state forces go unnoticed to the world because of the lack of media coverage.
Interview: Women’s role in the struggle for liberation is very important – Banuk Hooran Baloch
Banuk Hooran Baloch is the organizer of Baloch Republican Party Women Wing’s Quetta zone. She has been playing an important role in the party. She belongs to the Sumalani tribe of Mastung. She was born in a middle-class and prominent family. She got early education from Mastung and did matriculation from Quetta and now is a student of BA and has a deep eye on politics of Balochistan. She has been playing a conspicuous role in motivating the women wing of Baloch Republican Party.
Question: What is the reason that you joined the politics?
Banuk Hooran Baloch: I joined the politics to struggle for the liberation of my nation and country because a slave has no value. Our brothers are abducted, killed and dumped on daily basis; there are human rights violations, tyranny, brutality everywhere in Balochistan and this is the worst shape of salvation that I couldn’t tolerate and thus, stepped into the dangerous valley of politics. So that I can fight for liberation shoulder-to-shoulder with my Baloch brothers because if we [the Baloch women] remain ignorant about the struggle and don’t play our role today then the history will never forgive us. It irritated me when we received mutilated dead bodies of our brothers in worst conditions and we silently sat in the houses. I could not bear it at all because our lives are not more important than those of our brothers and that is why I came into politics.
Question: There is also parliamentary politics, why did you choose non-parliamentary politics?
Banuk Hooran Baloch: We will never join any parliamentary politics and neither do we need any [occupying Pakistani] parliament. We only need freedom. Nawab Brahumdagh Khan Bugti is our chief and we will struggle under his leadership for the sole purpose of liberation of our nation and country. We will guide our nation especially the women of our nation and will raise awareness and cognizance about the struggle for freedom. We suggest the parliamentary leaders that it is better for them to abandon the politics and wear bangles and sit in their homes instead, we the women will fight for freedom. We request to our sensible mothers and sisters to join the struggle with us because if we do not stand against the occupation today then it will be our destiny forever. We must join our brothers who are fighting for freedom.
Question: Baloch women were struggling on the platform of Women Panel in Balochistan but the panel became dysfunctional by passing time, What do you think is the reason behind it?
Banuk Hooran Baloch: There was no women panel in BRP. This is the first time when a women wing in BRP has been created that is leading toward the goal under the leadership of our leader Nawab Brahumdagh Khan Bugti and will never retrograde. The women have joined the party after adequate cerebration and they are very intelligent and steadfast. Women are joining BRP in large numbers because now the Baloch women are more aware and enlightened & will never retrograde but rather continue the struggle alongside their Baloch brothers and Nawab Brahumdagh Khan Bugti.
Question: There is a tribal society in Balochistan and all the political, social and other activities are controlled by the men, how will the women politically survive in society in these situations?
Banuk Hooran Baloch: This path is difficult and the state is also creating difficulties but we will never give up like the young women of Algeria when they stood for the liberation of their country under the leadership of Bibi Jameela and joined the political struggle for freedom putting aside the veils and burkas. When asked why the leave the houses, they always replied that one’s dignity is its own hand and unless and until we don’t get the freedom for our nation, we won’t limit ourselves to the houses and don’t wear veils. They did not ever give up to the hard and tense circumstances. They were Arabs and their traditions and culture has a lot of similarities with that of Baloch. When France was defeated in Algeria after 132 years and the country became independent, the Algerian women began to wear veils again & stayed in their houses peacefully. Similarly, Palestine is also fighting for its liberation and there also a woman namely Laila Khalid played an important role in the struggle and paid sacrifices for the freedom. In Kurdistan, A woman Samreen Kurd fought for the independence and in Balochistan, the mother of Noori Naseer Khan Bibi Maryam had a political role. Women around the world participated in such struggles and fought for their freedom alongside their brothers and succeeded.
Bangladesh was a part of Pakistan but this state had kept them slaves which the Bengalis did not accepted, they struggled and gained their freedom. Balochistan was even an independent state then how can we tolerate the slavery of Pakistan. We will come out of the houses, face the difficulties and pay sacrifices but we will never accept a life of slavery. Today, more than 200 Baloch women are detained and tortured in notorious torture cells of Pakistan. It’s been six years when Zarina Marri was abducted, Hanifa Bugti was abducted a long time ago and many Baloch women have been martyred. We know that the way of political struggle is hard but the slavery is worst and is intolerable.
Question: What is your opinion about other nationalist political parties?
Banuk Hooran Baloch: All the non-parliamentary Baloch parties are united, though the paths of struggle are different but we struggle for the same goal but we have no rapport with parliamentary parties because they are doing nothing for the nation and the country [Balochistan]. They are slaves of their own interests and all that they do, only for their own interests. We do not accept Pakistani elections neither have any connection with them. We warn all the parliamentary political parties to abandon soliciting Baloch people for participating in elections and refrain from such activities because Balochistan is in a state of war, 500 mutilated dead bodies have been found, thousands of our brothers are missing. Don’t they see these corpses & missing persons? We will not allow anyone to do politics for their interests on dead bodies of Baloch youth.
Question: You talk about freedom but you are a follower of Nawabs however the history says Nawab and Sardars are slaves of their interests, then how will you get this goal?
Banuk Hooran Baloch: We only accept two Nawabs. Nawab Brahumdagh Bugti and Nawab Khair Baksh Marri, expect them we do not accept any Sardar. Both of them are not Sardars but the leaders of the people. Nawabzada Balaach Khan Marri martyred in this struggle though he was also a Nawabzada but he struggled and sacrificed his life like a common man. Nawab Akbar was the leader of the nation who was martyred along with his 35 comrades; He is reverenced for the whole nation and is remembered passionately by every Baloch old or young, men or women.
The nation believes Nawab Brahumdagh Khan and Nawab Khair Baksh Marri to be their leaders and the people under their leadership. All the remaining are the puppets of Islamabad not acceptable to the people.
Question: You are a follower of Shaheed Nawab Akbar Bugti but he always struggled through parliamentary politics?
Banuk Hooran Baloch: Shaheed Nawab Akbar Bugti said that our first mistake was to vote in favor of Pakistan in the referendum of 1947, if we knew about the intentions of Pakistan we would not have voted for Pakistan. He was new to the politics that time and when he came to know about Pakistan, he immediately withdrew the parliamentary politics.
Question: You are saying that Shaheed Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti withdrew the parliamentary politics; however, he struggled on the platform of Jamhoori Watan Party till the end?
Banuk Hooran Baloch: Shaheed Nawab Akbar Bugti said that if we knew Pakistan is going to treat us like this, we had not voted for Pakistan.
Question: What kind of recognition has your movement gained internationally?
Banuk Hooran Baloch: Baloch struggle has gained a notable recognition internationally; US congress debated over the ongoing atrocities in Balochistan and pressurized Pakistan to stop human rights violations in Balochistan. Amnesty International conveyed several reports about the atrocities in Balochistan, They have recognized that the Baloch is suffering on their own land and an occupying state has forcefully occupied their land and resources.
The committee of US congress has said that there are 14,000 Baloch missing persons and they are detained in the torture cells of Pakistani secret agencies. All these are positive developments that our struggle is being recognized internationally. There have been many protests and demonstrations in favor of Baloch and Balochistan in London, Japan, Sweden, Norway and many other countries of the world.
Question: Military, technical, people power and every kind of powers are needed to run a state, Can you run a state after getting independence?
Banuk Hooran Baloch: Baloch always ran their country by themselves. Khan Mehrab or Noori Naseer Khan, They ran their state without any foreign help and even today, we are in such a position that we can run our country very well by ourselves because Baloch is a brave and enlightened nation and they have no deficit of anything neither did they ever requested for foreign help then why can’t they run their state now. Rather, other nation demanded help from Baloch people, if we see the history; Baloch never demanded help but helped others with bravery and generously. Baloch leader Mir Noori Naseer Khan helped Afghan king Ahmad Shah Abdali in the battle of “Panipat” and showed great courage and bravery and defeated the enemy of Afghan King. Ahmad Shah Abdali rewarded the sister of Noori Naseer Khan with “Pishin” (a territory in Balochistan) as a “Shal” or scarf. Bibi Maryam also participated in the battle.
Question: What is your opinion about the talks of division of Balochistan?
Banuk Hooran Baloch: Baloch and Pushtoon have been living together for a very long time and if they are willing to live with Baloch even now then nobody can force them to separate but if they want separation, it’s their choice. Baloch and Pushtoon are the owners of their own lands, if Pushtoons do not want to stay with Balochistan then they can live separate but they should only have claim over their own lands & not on even one inch of Baloch land and slogans like “Bolan to Chitral” are not acceptable to the Baloch, although we respect the demand of Pushtoons about equality. Our struggle is for freedom and we will free our country from the occupation of Pakistan.
Question: Pushtoons are demanding for twelve districts including Sibbi and Quetta, How do you see this?
Banuk Hooran Baloch: If Pushtoons do not know calculation, I suggest them to study mathematics. Once they do that, they will surely know whether 22 are more or 6. Then they should come up with idea of “Bolan to Chitral”. There are 22 Baloch districts in Balochistan and only 6 Pushtoon districts and it depends on them [Pushtoons] whether they want to stay with Balochistan or separate their six districts. If they talk about Sibbi, Quetta or Bolan then they should come up with historical evidences that when they remained the owner of these areas. We do not accept such foul demands.
Question: You say that only six districts belong to the Pushtoon, please name those districts?
Banuk Hooran Baloch: Zhob, Loralai, Ziarat, Mosa Khel, Killa Siafullah and Killa Abdullah are the Pushtoon districts in Balochistan and not even a single inch of Balochistan except these districts belong to Pushtoons. Pishin is also a Baloch district which was gifted to the sister of Baloch leader Mir Noori Naseer Khan by Afghan King Ahmad Shah Abdali.
Question: What is the scale of the area for which you demand independence?
Banuk Hooran Baloch: We demand independence for greater Balochistan which includes Rajanpur, Dera Ghazi Khan [currently in Punjab], Jaccobabad, Karachi [currently in Sindh] and Iranian occupied Balochistan and our struggle will continue until we free greater Balochistan.
Question: Leave aside the parliamentary parties, why aren’t the non-parliamentary Baloch parties united?
Banuk Hooran Baloch: We all [non-parliamentary parties] are united, who said we are not? We are united under the leadership of Nawab Brahumdagh Khan Bugti, Nawab Khair Baksh Marri, Nawabzada Hyrbyar Marri and Mehran Marri. We will never be separated and if the enemy thinks that we are not united, it is her misunderstanding.
Question: Resistance organizations are increasing everyday and many [State-backed] armed organizations are also made to contend them, what do you think is the reason?
Banuk Hooran Baloch: All Baloch resistance organizations are united and performing their responsibilities and those organizations created against them are not resistance organizations but are the proxies of the occupying state because the state, after committing endless atrocities, is now defeated and confused. It is now killings Baloch youth through various proxies created by ISI, FC and MI but still they fail to terrorize the Baloch and the nation continues its struggle for the noble goal of freedom. Military operations in Dera Bugti, Isplinji, Kabo, Dasht, Makran and other parts of Balochistan against unarmed Baloch civilians are the speaking evidences of the confusion and frustration of the defeated forces of the occupying state. All the parliamentary parties are crime partners with the state in Balochistan and we warn them to abandon collaboration of the occupying state or it will be disadvantageous for them because we know everything about them and we can clearly distinguish between our enemies and friends. The greedy Baloch parliamentary leaders should not consider themselves free, they all will be held accountable.
Question: What is your message for Baloch nation?
Banuk Hooran Baloch: My message for Baloch nation is never get strayed by the negative propaganda of the enemy and continue their struggle and the success will be their destiny. Nobody can deny them their rights neither can anyone deprive them of success. Elections, trifle services and employments are worthless; Baloch youth must stand against the occupiers and join hands with our leader Nawab Brahumdagh Bugti & strengthen his hands to further intensify the national struggle for freedom of Baloch and Balochistan.
Baloch genocide is at peak but the world remain a silent spectator – Sher Mohammad Bugti
Baloch Republican Party leader Sher Mohammad Bugti has said that the genocide of Baloch people has rise to its peak and the silence of the civilized world is a big question mark. In the latest press release, he counted the recent military activities against Baloch people in Balochistan and criticized the role of judiciary as a crime partner. He went on to say that all this quarrel between the state judiciary and the forces and agencies is a mere a time gaining game and an effort to confuse the world about the situation in Balochistan.
He said that the genocidal policies of Pakistani forces against Baloch nation continue unabated in Balochistan as the continuous military operations, arbitrary abductions, extra-judicially killings and human rights violations perpetrated by state forces do not see any end. On Monday, Pakistani forces launched a heavy military offensive in Mach and its surrounding areas and heavily bombarded civilian populated areas, several women and children were wounded. The bombardment was followed by aggression of ground troops. They entered houses violently and harassed and tortured the residents, looted the valuables and subsequently set on fire several houses.
On Tuesday, Pakistani regular army raided the New Kahan town of Quetta and launched a door-to-door search operation. Women, children and aged-people were dragged out of their houses and badly tortured and many men were abducted and taken toward an undisclosed location. The residents were terrorized by heavy aerial firing and valuable of their houses were either looted or destroyed.
Yesterday, Pakistani forces raided the house of Baloch poetess and lecturer Ms Naushin Kambarani in Quetta and misbehaved with her and her family, the plan clothed personnel of Pakistani security agencies also threatened to kill her and her children. Separately, Pakistani security forces abducted another Baloch namely Addo Bugti from his residence during a pre-dawn raid on his houses yesterday. His family members were harassed and badly tortured. The relatives of Addo Bugti fear his safety because people abducted by Pakistani forces either come up dead or remain missing for years.
Besides, the Supreme Court of Pakistan has rejected the investigation report of FC regarding Baloch missing persons and has given the 2 months time to the FC for recovery of all missing persons. We consider the fake fight between the FC and Supreme Court as a drama to ease or avoid the international pressure and to avoid the international community to take note of arbitrary abductions and extra-judicial killings in Balochistan.
On the other hand, the security agencies of Pakistan are also threatening the Vice chairman of VFMP (Voice for Baloch Missing Persons) Waja Abdul Qadeer Baloch to end his peaceful protest for the recovery of Baloch missing persons. His son Jaleel Reki, a central leader of Baloch Republican Party, was also abducted and detained. After two years, his tortured, mutilated and riddled with bullets dead body was found. BRP strongly condemn the threats to him.
We hail the efforts of US Congressman Mr. Dana Rohrabacher for the release of Baloch abducted leader Zakir Majeed Baloch and hope he will continue his support for the oppressed Baloch people and help them get justice, equality and their right to self-determination and freedom.
We strongly urge the international community, United Nations, European Union, International court for justice, international criminal court, international media, Human rights organizations and the civilized people of the world to take note of state atrocities and the genocide of Baloch people committed by Pakistani forces in Balochistan and play their role to put an end to it and help the Baloch live a free, and peaceful life.
